Why Solar Energy in Northern regions

• The energy generated by solar plant would offset energy typically generated by a coal powered plant and reduce the dependency on Fossil fuels.
• Solar plant of 25MW would reduce CO2 emissions by ~35,476 tonnes per year.
• Has the same effect as planting 16,29,386 mature trees.
• Would save 8,41,17,898 liter of water.
• It will save the natural flora and fauna of J&K state and result in improved public health, environment quality, enhance the economic and societal capital of the state.
• India has committed at Paris Agreement that it will produce 40% of its total power from renewable energy till 2030.
• Provide Uninterrupted solar power (Solar Plant uptime>99.9%).
• Provide employment for 400 people during the construction period and 25 person during the O&M of solar plant.
• Minimum life of Solar Power Plant is 25 years.
